Delta State Government has been commended for its efforts at constructing and clearing drainages for free flow of flood water.
In the past few months, the state government had embarked on the clearance of drainages and water channels to ensure that rain water did not constitute danger to lives and property.
The member representing Oshimili South Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Peter Onwusanya, while reacting to the project, said that the move justified the overall policy of government on infrastructure development.
He explained that Asaba, Warri, Sapele and other towns had benefitted from flood control which has also made the environment more habitable for the residents.
While acknowledging that the state had done well in most spheres of governance, he pointed out that he was happy the people appreciate the infrastructure development programme of the state.
According to him, the move to open up blocked drainages, road network, water channels, schools, renovation have endeared the state government to its citizens.
However, he pleaded with Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to revolutionise road system in Asaba and environs so as to open up the areas for development.
Hon. Onwusanya averred that Asaba had enjoyed more government presence since Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration, but the people now desire good network of roads.
