NUC Accredits 41 Programmes In DELSU

BY RAYMOND ISARA -ABRAKA
THE National Universities Commission (NUC) has fully accredited 41 out of 43 academic programmes of the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, examined in its last accreditation exercise.
This is contained in the results of the exercise carried out between March and April, 2012 as released by the accreditation panel of the commission.
Our correspondent reports this feat (95.3 per cent success rate) is first of its kind in the 20-year history of the state-owned institution.
Observers attributed this achievement to what they described as the dedication and hard work of the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eric Arubayi. Some of the institution told The POINTER that since Arubayi assumed office two years ago, the institution has witnessed massive infrastructure and academic development.
Our correspondent further gathered that with this performance, DELSU is now qualified for institutional visit by NUC.
