Football Fans Unite As Uduaghan Opens Viewing Centre

The Viewing Centre recently constructed by the Delta State Government at the Inter Bau Junction in the state capital, Asaba, attracted huge crowds on Monday evening when Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan commissioned the facility.
Governor Uduaghan arrived at the Viewing Centre at about 9.00pm in time for the crack English Premiership encounter between Liverpool and Tottenham and was in the company of commissioners and other top government functionaries as well as a mammoth crowd of soccer fans who filled the massive facility to capacity.

The Commissioner for Environment, Chief Frank Omare, who also headed the task force, charged with the responsibility of clearing the illegal structure previously existing at the location of the Viewing Centre and make the place environmentally-friendly, expressed joy and satisfaction at the successful completion of the assignment.
An elated Chief Omare, while fielding questions from reporters at the end of the ceremony, said the Viewing Centre is part of efforts by the Uduaghan administration to enhance the welfare of Deltans through projects to secure the environment.
The large LCD screen at the Viewing Centre was previously in the open but has now been moved into the massive complex to enhance the viewing pleasure of residents of the state capital.
The new location, which has concrete seats and other facilities making it an ideal environment for watching football matches and other programmes, has been sand-filled to cover the borough pit in some parts of the area.
Omare said his ministry was in the process of working out a partnership agreement with Guinness and that many companies have indicated interest in managing the facility.
The audience were served cold drinks to enhance their viewing pleasure there was also comedy and cultural dance displays.
