THE Delta state first lady and founder of Master Care Foundation Deaconess (Mrs) Roli Nere Uduaghan, through her foundation has presented food items including cash to widows in Bomadi Local Government Area of the state.
Presenting the items at the Bomadi council secretariat to the widows who were carefully selected from all the wards, wife of the Governor told the widows that the food items were presented to them in the spirit of the season, which she said “it is a season of love and charity”, adding that the gesture was to remember widows at Christmas to reassure them that they are not abandoned.
The Delta first lady was represented at the occasion by the wife of the Bomadi council chairman, Mrs. Beauty Karetimi, who stated that government remembers them in their conditions, saying, “you are not left alone in your plights. These items no matter how little, the essence is to show love and charity to the less privileged, especially widows and children in the spirit of Christmas.
While advising the widows on the need for them to engage themselves on productive ventures, the Delta first lady called on the public and spirited individuals to assist widows, just as she said “young and strong ones can even re-marry if they want to. That you are a widow is not the end of life. I want you to use these items to celebrate the Christmas and forget your sorrows”.
Mrs. Uduaghan who urged them not to sell the items further advised the widows to always pray to God whom she said is the husband of the widows. Expressing their gratitude, the beneficiaries in their separate comments thanked the benefactor and wife of the Bomadi council chairman for making them celebrate the Christmas in a happy mood and prayed God to protect their families.
