Don’t Let PDP Down

Muazu Urges Party Flagbearers
says, We Must Deliver On Our Mandate
BY CHARLES EMENI
FEW weeks to the 2015 general elections, National Chairman of the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu has urged members who are flying the party’s flag to work tirelessly in order to win the election in their area. That way, he said, “You will not let the PDP down”.
Alhaji Muazu, who gave the advice during the recent PDP fund raising dinner at Abuja, monitored on the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, network advised, “That you won the PDP primaries elections was the first step towards achieving victory, but you must keep working hard to ensure that you win the elections proper, by involving everybody that matters in your campaign, and not forgetting the fact that power comes only from God.”
He, however, advised all those who could not make it at the primaries not to be discouraged, but to be more loyal and committed to the party as they may have better opportunities in the future.
Taking a critical look at the party, particularly where it is coming from, Alhaji Muazu said, “We have come a long way, and PDP, at this stage should not only be a reformed party, but a reform minded institution to deliver Nigeria from retrogression”.
For this reason, he said, “There was no going back on the Nigerian project; the task is enormous, but we must deliver on our goal.”
Also speaking, the Chairman, organizing committee of the event, Professor Jerry Gana said, it was on good record that the PDP is giving the Nigerian people good candidates, adding that President Goodluck Jonathan who is flying the party’s flag for the presidency in 2015 is a good and presentable candidate anywhere in the world.
He, however, was quick to advice that, party leaders should not for any reason impose unpopular candidates on the people, as such may spell doom for the party.
