Uduaghan Has Delivered On His Three-Point Agenda, Says Obiago

AS the present administration in Delta State ticks to a close on May 29, the Economic Adviser to state Governor, Ogbueshi Afam Obiago is upbeat that the government would effectively deliver on its three point agenda.
Obiago, who asserted this in an interview with The POINTER in his office in Asaba, said that the administration of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has within the past eight years holistically delivered on its three point agenda of peace and security, human capital development and Infrastructural Development.
He said although the present administration would wind up in the next few months, it is still strong in its efforts at developing every sector of the state economy as definite parameter in its vision to finish strong, just as he already scored the present administration above 90 per cent.
On peace and security for instance, the Governor’s aide said, “if I start with the Peace and Security, you will agree with me that since this administration came to power, this State has witnessed considerable peace, just as security has been upped in the game. It has been one of our major priorities.
“We don’t want to put price on peace and security, but Deltans will agree that peace has reigned in Delta state; the waterways have been very safe as the issues of Piracy and Militancy have all disappeared. People can now move freely in the creeks as if they no longer remember what it used to be before this administration came to power.
“As human beings, we are always very selective in what we want to remember, but I do know that at the time this administration came on board, business in those riverine areas were actually dead and schools in those areas were closed. But you now know that schools in those areas have since reopened and students are back to their various schools.
“Issues of militancy in the state are already a history as nobody talks about it again. The amnesty programme which was also occasioned by the government of Dr. Uduaghan is also a plus to the Niger Delta as well as to the Federal Government.
“Therefore, you will agree with me that this is a major achievement in the state and that both God and man will agree that a lot has happened in the State in terms of Peace and Security.
“Essentially, this was manifested during the recent Primary elections that were conducted in the state, because, in the past, nobody will believe that we can conduct that type of election we conducted in the state where there was no case of violence, just as the result was announced and people accepted the result as it was. That is talking about Peace and Security which I keep saying that people cannot put any price on”, he enthused.
While scoring government high on infrastructural development, particularly on road construction, bridges, airports, schools among others, Obiago said, “I have no doubt in my mind that we have fought a good fight and going by the available resources at our disposal, we have done well”.
