Pdp Believes In United Nigeria —Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday said the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and all its candidates believe in one, indivisible Nigeria.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Jonathan said this in Sokoto at the Goodluck Jonathan/Namadi Sambo Presidential Campaign rally.
According to him, the PDP government believes in one Nigeria and we will continue to deliver the much-needed dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
He said “the unity of the country cannot in any way be compromised and the Federal Government will continue to frown and all terror groups and their dastardly activities.’’
The President warned that the Federal Government would not condone arson and violence in the name of politics.
He added that “politicians must begin to tell their followers to be disciplined and do the right thing.
“Politics should be devoid of terrorism or violence or the use of religion or ethnicity to divide Nigerians.’’
Jonathan condemned the use of youths by selfish politicians to cause mayhem, stressing that “Nigerians must learn to accommodate each other, irrespective of their diverse religious and ethnic backgrounds.
“Nigerians should not be intimidated by any selfish politicians, as such, Nigerians must be allowed to freely elect candidates of their choice and with their conscience.’’
Vice President Namadi Sambo disclosed that the Federal Government, when re-elected, would extend the rail line from Kaura Namoda in Zamfara to Sokoto and to Niger republic.
Sambo appealed to the people of Sokoto State to reelect President Jonathan for him to continue with the good works he had been doing for Nigerians.
He denied that the Federal Government was behind the current security challenges in the country.
He explained that “the Federal Government, led by President Goodluck Jonathan and his lieutenants, are deeply concerned and are doing everything humanly possible to reverse the ugly trend.’’
The National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, described Jonathan as “a patient, pious, humble and committed leader who is committed to even socio economic development in Nigeria.’’
Meanwhile, Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State says only President Goodluck Jonathan is capable of providing the dividends of democracy for the people of the state and other Nigerians.
Yuguda stated this at the end of a meeting he held with the leaders of “Bauchi 2015 Support President Jonathan/Sambo PDP Progressive Forum“ yesterday in Bauchi.
He expressed confidence that President Jonathan would emerge victorious in February 14 presidential election, adding that Jonathan had been tested, trusted and proven.
“We know what we want for our people; we know the kind of dividends of democracy that our people should have.
‘’And we know who can provide them; it is Jonathan that can provide them for us. Not any other person.
“I can say with a lot of confidence that when it comes to rating in terms of performance, Bauchi is second to none; and so we have so much to talk about the achievements of Mr. President.
“And we have high hopes and high expectations as people of Bauchi, that when Mr President is unanimously voted, a lot of goodies will come to Bauchi State“.
Yuguda said that the state chapter of the party had set up the forum as an effective campaign structure to ensure victory for the President in the February elections.
He recalled that the people of the state were blinded by sentiments when they voted in favour of the opposition in 2011.
Yuguda said that the people were now better informed to make good decision devoid of sentiments.
“This is a very strong organisation that has been created out of the campaign structure of PDP in Bauchi State for the President and is composed of people who are highly experienced, people who are with the grassroots, who are well-respected and people who can really sell the transformation agenda of Mr. President.
“And also they are adequately informed about the achievements of this administration and I do not think there is anything we, as a government, has done that they do not know.
“Bauchi people have blindly supported the opposition in the past; today their eyes have been opened.
“They were carried away by sentiments.
“There is no longer sentimentality in the politics of Bauchi State.
“Bauchi people are politically educated today, so the opposition should not take us for granted”.
