I ’ll Transform Abraka—Okowa

The Delta State People’ Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial candidate, Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, says he will re-design the University Town of Abraka and give it a status befitting of a higher institution host community, just as he promised Ughelli people of genuine partnership if voted into power.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of PDP supporters in Isiokolo, headquarters of Ethiope East Local Government Area, Senator Okowa, who was delighted with the large turnout, said that Abraka, the country home of one of his main challengers, Chief Great Ogboru of Labour Party, would be one of the communities that would be made a mega city in his urban renewal programme.
He said that if elected, besides his health insurance policy which he intend to introduce to ameliorate the suffering of rural people and urban dwellers, he would ensure that vocational skills and agricultural programmes that would empower the youths and other Deltans are put in place.
While speaking at Ughelli, headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Senator Okowa lamented the state of underdevelopment in some towns within the local government particularly, Agbarho, promising to give the town special attention when he assumes office come May 29.
An elated Okowa, obviously overwhelmed by the unprecedented turnout at the rally said, “With what I have seen here at Ughelli North, I am convinced that the election is won already and when you see what I saw at Isiokolo, the headquarters of Ethiope East, there is only one thing a normal human being should do and that is to praise God”.
“I am very proud of the people of Ughelli North Local Government. This is a local government where somebody is contesting with me, just like what we saw at Isiokolo where one of my brothers is contesting with me. With this I have concluded that nobody is contesting against me. Let me assure you that when I assume office, Ughelli people will be given attention in sharing of appointments. We will ensure that we change the mentality of our youths to become better youths”.
“We desire a state where an Urhobo man will see an Ijaw man, Isoko man will see an Anioma man, an Anioma man will see an Itsekiri man as one. And if we must achieve, we must be united. There must be fairness, there must be equity and there must be justice. Please vote for our entire candidates from this area”, Senator Okowa pleaded.
Earlier, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Steven Oru, who said that Ughelli is a PDP area, appealed to the electorate to not only vote for the party but go all out to win more supporters for the PDP.
Chief Oscar Ibru, speaking at the Ughelli Township Stadium, said that he needs no soothsayer to tell him that Senator Okowa remains the best man for the governorship seat in Delta State.
