Okowa To Unveil Prosperity Agenda

BY KELVIN OSEMENE/MAXWELL MOMAH
The cliché that a prophet does not have honour in his home was proved wrong yesterday as the people of Ika nation, the home of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the February 28 governorship polls in Delta state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, trooped out in their thousands to welcome the party flagbearer to Ika South and Ika North East Local Government rallies of the party.
At the Ika South and Owa Oyibo in Ika North East rallies, security men were on their toes controlling the surging crowds of supporters.
Addressing the supporters, Senator Okowa expressed gratitude to the people for turning out en masse to the rally. He reiterated his determination to activate his blueprint on prosperity for all Deltans if elected come February 28, 2015.
While assuring the people that his five point agenda which would emphasise agricultural revolution, industrialisation, healthcare delivery, education and wealth creation among others would expand the frontiers of democracy, Senator Okowa urged the people to ensure that they armed themselves with the Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) which would entitle them to vote.
He further assured a vote for him and all PDP candidates including President Jonathan would guarantee better life for all Nigerians.
Senator Okowa had earlier visited the palaces of the Dein of Agbor Kingdom and the Obi of Owa where he received royal blessing and was described as a pan Deltan.
Also speaking at the rallies, the State chairman of the party urged all Deltans to obtain their PVC as that was the passport for electing leaders of choice.
He reiterated that PDP was not fragmented or affiliated to any opposition party urging people to disregard any claim that PDP was sponsoring any candidate in another party.
The rally was attended by party leaders including chairman and members of the PDP gubernatorial campaign council.
