Polls: Macaulay, Ogor Stress On PDP’s Victory In Isoko

The leaders of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Isoko North Local Government Area, led by The Secretary to the Delta State Government, SSG, Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay, has called on Canvassers, Unit Chairmen, Secretaries, Ward Excos and every member of the PDP to take it as a point of duty in preaching the gospel of the party to Everyman and woman on the street to ensure victory of the party in the forth coming February 14 and 28 general election nationwide.

Comrade Macaulay made the call yesterday during the meeting of Isoko North PDP Leaders, Councillors, Campaign Coordinators, Ward Chairmen, Secretaries, Unit Chairmen and other stakeholders held at the SSG’s Country home Owhelogbo, Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State.
Speaking at the meeting, the SSG urged every unit Chairman and Secretary to be dedicated to their responsibilities and stressed on the need of delivering PDP, saying, “We must deliver all PDP candidates from President Goodluck Jonathan to Sen. Okowa as Governor and House of Assembly Members”.
According to Macaulay, in addressing PDP’s elaborate meeting of over 1000 people, he said “the election is not going to be a tea party because it will be different from the previous ones”. It therefore means that we are going to embark on door to door campaign and let every man and woman of adult age be canvassers, he also urged party faithful to go and preach the gospel of PDP to ensure that the tradition of voting PDP all round remains”. He appealed to voters to monitor their votes to ensure their vote is counted and result is being announced before departing from the polling unit.
Senator James Manager, Member representing Delta South District, who was part of the meeting, thanked the leaders in the area for the initiative to meet with canvassers. “I want to thank the leadership of the party for the wonderful work, I also want to thank the canvassers because the election is going to be slightly different from the past. We are strongly relying on you the canvassers to educate the voters on the voting pattern.
Because in this election, every vote must count and we are strongly relying on you to do the needful. You are the hope of this election, you are the final touch and that final touch will count for us.” He said.

Also speaking at the meeting, The Deputy Majority Leader House of Representatives and member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Leo Okuweh Ogor, also urged the Unit Chairmen and Secretaries to start calling regular meetings in their various units as soon as possible to brief the canvassers on the task ahead of them to enable the job start immediately.

Meanwhile, the member representing Isoko North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Tim Kome Owhefere has assured the Unit Chairmen and Canvassers that logistics and working matters will be adequately provided to enable them work effectively to ensure total success of the party.
