Okowa Calls For Reflection On Noble Virtues At Easter

THE gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Arthur
Okowa, has urged Deltans to use the occasion of the Easter celebration to reflect on the noble virtues of love, sacrifice,
selflessness, and commitment which Jesus Christ displayed through His death, resurrection, and ascension.
Senator Okowa urged Deltans, and indeed all Nigerians, to emulate these qualities which, he asserted, are imperative for the service of God and humanity. Noting that the resurrection of Christ signalled a new beginning in the human race, Senator Okowa prayed that all Deltans will “experience a new vision for their lives; that new and better opportunities will come their way and, above all, that they will enjoy the blessings of the new life in Christ.”
The PDP governorship candidate also used the opportunity to assure the people of Delta State that through his S.M.A.R.T
agenda, he is committed to making sure that the people prosper from the abundant natural and material resources that God has bestowed on them as a people.
He urged all supporters of the PDP in the state to remain “focused and resolute, and thank God for the peace in the country arising from the godly action of the PDP in the aftermath of the presidential election.”
Senator Okowa then stressed the need for the party’s supporters to leverage on this “unique opportunity for a resounding victory for the PDP at the April
11 governorship election.” Noting that his “unblemished track record” at various levels of governance in the last two decades should speak for him at this critical period in the history of Nigeria, and Delta State in particular,
Senator Okowa advised Deltans “to shunn candidates who stoke the fire of ethnic sentiments;” a development, he said,“ portends great danger for the unity of the state.”He then called on all Deltans to “vote for the candidate with the fear of God and who will respect the fundamental principles of fairness, justice, and equity.”
