No Party Can Intimidate PDP–Uduaghan

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan said, yesterday, that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the state was ready for the April 11, 2015 Governorship election, saying no party can intimidate the PDP.
At a meeting with PDP members in Delta Central held at the PTI Conference Center, Effurun, the Governor stated that PDP would coast to victory in the Governorship and House of Assembly elections this weekend, but urged members of the party to work hard to emerge victorious in the polls, asserting that he does not bother anymore about rumour mongering.
“The more people tell lies against you, the stronger you become, if is about a lie of death, you will be growing older in age. All the lies people told about me, are making me stronger by the years”, Dr. Uduaghan stated.
While saying he was sure of PDP winning the governorship election, he revealed that he had commenced compiling his handover note that he would hand over to Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on May 29, 2015.
According to him, “On May 29, I will hand over power to Senator Okowa. I am compiling my handover note already that I will hand over to Okowa on May 29 because I am very sure of victory for our party”.
“We are stronger now as a result of our voting strength which we demonstrated on March 28 Presidential/National Assembly elections. We have no apology for voting massively for President Jonathan”, he said.
“In governance, there is no majority and no minority between the president and the governor. In fact, a Governor in the same party with the President is an endangered specie because the president can move for his impeachment. But if we have a strong governor, no president can ignore that governor. All we need to do is to ensure that PDP produces the next governor in Delta State”, Governor Uduaghan stated.
He advised the people of Delta Central to shun all forms of bitterness and rumour mongers and stop drawing unnecessary battles to Delta Central. “We are unnecessarily bringing the battle to our door step in Delta Central, and we are bringing the battle to ourselves, if we work with one mind, no party can defeat PDP in Delta Central, let us not take things for granted”, Dr. Uduaghan advised.
Senator Okowa, he said, is an acceptable candidate anytime, any day.
He said, “Okowa is very experienced. We have passed the stage of having a Governor learning on the job. Okowa has made contacts over the years and we are all working together to win. We have a strong team. The next captain of the team is Okowa and I am appealing to all of you to vote massively for Okowa as we did on March 28. Let us work with one mind, if we do that, no party can win us in Delta Central. Let us not take things for granted”.
He added that, “We must work as a team. No party can intimidate us in the governorship election. We must be determined to win. We are on ground and ready for the election. No time for rumour mongering, let us use our time for proper mobilisation to win the election”.
Also speaking, the State Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama implored the people to vote massively for the PDP, saying they should not be deceived by other parties suffering from incurable K-legs.
“Let me tell you my people, those who say Urhobo have governorship candidate is deceiving you. I assure you that PDP is very strong in Delta Central and will deliver our votes to PDP come next Saturday”. Prof. Utuama assured.
The Delta State PDP governorship flagbearer, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, expressed his confidence in the people of Delta Central saying he believes in their strength and unity and the calibre of leaders piloting the affairs of the party.
Dr. Okowa commended the state Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for the relative peace in the state and for steering the party to ensuring that PDP was victorious at the last presidential election. He noted that with more unity and strength at the local government levels, PDP will be victorious in next Saturday’s election.
He described PDP as a united party and implored the people to speak with one voice on Election Day.
“We must be united to win the election on Saturday. Deltans are one people; we are one family. Other parties cannot divide us; they are afraid of us and on Saturday, let it be operation deliver all. We are not going to allow them any vote. Other parties do not have followers. We did not grow PDP overnight”, he said.
