BY PAUL NWAYALANI
AS part of proactive measures to ensure good governance and protection of their cherished mandate, the serving councillors, under the aegis of Delta State Councillors Forum, have resolved to go to their various wards and communities to mobilise people and ensure that they vote massively for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate ,Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, during the April 11 gubernatorial election.
Delta State Councillors Forum is a representative body of Leaders of the legislative arms of the various local government councils across the state.
In a communiqué issued by the Forum and signed by its Chairman/Leader of Oshimili North Legislative House, Hon. Kema Egenu, and Secretary, Hon Richard Pessu, of Warri South Local Government Counci at the end of their meeting held weekend at the Legislative Chambers of Ughelli North Local Government Council, the councillors also resolved that “as part of the measures to protect our mandates as duly elected Councillors who assumed office some few months ago, it is very imperative that apart from the election of Senator Okowa as the next governor, we shall ensure the election of all PDP House of Assembly candidates in the forthcoming April 11 elections”.
Justifying their adoption of Senator Okowa, they added that it is equally in the overall interest of Delta State to allow the next governorship position rotate to Delta North Senatorial Zone (Anioma) for the sake of justice and fairness in the polity.
