Oparanozie Set For Mali Showdown

SUPER Falcons’ France-based lethal striker, Desire Oparanozie has teamed up with her teammates for Friday’s All Africa Games final round reverse fixture clash against Mali at the Abuja National Stadium.
First fixture clash in Bamako, Mali ended one goal apiece for the West African sides.
Oparanozie upon arrival to camp on Monday night shortly before dinner said her mind is focused on the crunch clash against the Malians.
“There is nothing unusual to expect, I’m still the same Desire, I’m in camp now and I’m here to be on top of my game and to be at my very best at every given time.
“I won’t say this is what I am going to bring into the team because it is not all about me, we are a team so we have to work together and hopefully the results will come out positive. I am very sure and positive we will crush Mali here,” said the former Delta Queens markswoman.
Though Oparanozie said she was disappointed the reigning champions did not qualify for the Games the last time in Maputo, Mozambique she expressed joy at having a second chance to make amend.
“You know they say once beaten twice shy. I have always dreamed of playing in the AAG and Olympics and will relish this golden opportunity to be at the All Africa Games. We will get it right this time by God’s grace and our qualification is sure” she said.
The aggregate winners of the second leg encounter will book passage for the quadrennial multiple sports showpiece in Congo Brazzaville.
