Political Aides Urge Deltans To Vote Massively For Okowa

BY SAM DUVWODE
BARELY three days to the April 11, governorship election in the country, Senior Special Advisers and Special Assistants in the Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan administration in Delta State have called on the people of the state to vote massively for the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa.
The call was part of the decision reached in Asaba during a meeting of the political office holders.
The group explained that as things stand now, Dr. Okowa remains the best candidate to lead Delta State at this period.
The Special Assistant on Community Relations, Mrs. Mercy Ashibogwu-Ogedazi, who chaired the meeting, urged the electorate in the state to vote for Okowa whom she described as competent, visionary, humane and God fearing.
According to her, ‘we know Okowa, we have worked with him as Secretary to the State Government. He understands Delta State better than any of the candidates vying for the office of the Governor’.
Continuing, the Special Assistant explained that those switching sides because of the development at the national level are missing the point as every segment of the country requires its own strategic growth pattern.
“’Delta State already has a well researched strategic development plan by the PDP designed to fast track socio economic development and we ask our good people of Delta State to key into the vision’.
Speaking at the meeting, those in attendance assured that the message of peace, security and development will be taken to all units and wards to ensure the victory of the PDP.
Honorable Beckley Asiafia, who is Special Duties Assistant, said the challenges are enormous but explained that Delta will be far better under PDP as the party was better focused to lift the state to higher heights.
The political aides reassured the people of Delta State of the commitment of the PDP to do better things for the people of the state.
