Protect NDDC Projects, Amioku Charges Benefiting Communities

THE Commissioner representing Delta State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Chief Tom Amioku, has charged benefiting communities of NDDC projects in the Niger Delta region to protect the infrastructures for more of such developmental projects to be attracted to the communities.
Giving the charge while commissioning six completed projects in communities in Isoko nation, Chief Amioku reiterated the determination of the new board of the NDDC to make a difference in bringing development to all the states of the oil rich region.
The projects commissioned on the second day of the inauguration of over forty completed projects in Delta state by Chief Amioku on behalf of the NDDC board, include: Omodu road project in Emede, Isoko North, Concrete Pavement Road and Drains in Okolobiri Street, Irri, Isoko South and Solar Powered Water project in Iyede, also in Isoko North Local Govt Area.
Others include: 137 units Solar Street lights at Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, Isoko North, 137 units Solar Street Lights projects at the Oleh Campus road of the Delta State University, Oleh in Isoko South and Solar Street light project in Igbide, Isoko South Local Government Area.
Chief Amioku said the NDDC as an interventionist agency would continue to bring development to the Niger Delta region, maintaining that the projects were geared towards improving quality of lives of the people.
He reminded all that the development of the region is a very complex one that requires the involvement of all stakeholders and appealed for support and understanding of the all critical interest groups.
The NDDC Delta State representative charged the benefitting communities to protect the projects being handed over to them to encourage the commission and other development agencies to consider the areas for more projects.
Chief Amioku emphasised that a strong partnership between government, its agencies and communities will fast track the needed development in Delta state and all the member states of the NDDC.
The spokespersons of the benefiting communities expressed appreciation to the commission for the speedy execution of the projects, assuring that the communities would protect and make judicious use of the projects.
They commended Chief Amioku and his management team for their strides in bringing development to the state.
