Delta PDP Chairman, Uzor Counsels Journalists On Objective Reportage

Delta State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Edwin Uzor, has charged journalist to be constructive and objective in their reportage in order to sustain our nascent democracy and enhance Nigeria’s growth and development.
Chief Uzor gave the charge during the presentation of a distinguished award of excellence to him as a Grassroot Democrat by the Chairman, Nigeria Independent Community Newspaper Publishers Association (NICNPA), Delta State Chapter, Prince Charles Umejei, in his office in Asaba.
Represented by his Special Adviser, (Political Matters), Hon. Eloka Aziekwu, the PDP boss thanked members of the association for the honour, saying that the award would spur him to do more for the party and humanity in general.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP, saying that the victory of the party in Delta State in the general election was a confirmation of PDP’s supremacy and strong hold in the state.
“As a party, we believe in equity, justice and fairness” adding that this was demonstrated with the victory of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa from Delta North as Governor elect at the polls.
Earlier in his remarks, the chairman (NICNPA) Prince Charles Umejei who is also the publisher of National Trumpet Newspaper had said that the award was in recognition of Chief Uzor’s commitment and contributions to the growth, stability and victory of PDP in the state in the last general elections.
“We want to commend you on your political exploits in Delta State. It takes a man of character, ingenuity, knowledge, experience, foresight and wisdom to pilot the affairs of PDP in Delta State”.
He described chief Uzor as a man of principle and integrity, even as he appealed to him and the incoming administration to carry community newspapers along in the scheme of things as partners in the Delta State project.
