Enyimba defender Idris Aloma has told supersport.com that he would love to net his first international goal for the Super Eagles against Chad if given the chance to feature in the AFCON qualifying match.
Aloma, 20, has been impressive this term for Enyimba in the Glo Premier League as he scored Enyimba’s first goal of the season at Lobi Stars.
He is among the 26 players called up from the Nigerian league for the tie against Chad next month in Kaduna, and Aloma said he wants to help the Super Eagles to win the encounter.
“Everybody knows that our match against Chad is a must win game, and I have the believe that we would record a good victory against Chad.
“I am happy to be part of the Super Eagles team again, and I want to score my first goal for Nigeria against Chad if I would get the chance to play in the encounter.
“Wearing the Super Eagles jersey has been my prayer since when I was a kid, and I want to thank God for protecting my life to this stage of my career,” Aloma said to supersport.com
The Super Eagles will contend with Egypt, Tanzania and Chad for a place at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, to be hosted by Gabon.
Nigeria and Chad have not met at full international level and the tie in Kaduna will be one the Super Eagles will look to win to stand a good chance of qualifying for the biennial event after missing the last edition in Equatorial Guinea this year.
