Falcons Hold Women’s World Cup Hosts Canada In Friendly

EDWIN Okon’s ladies secured a crucial point against the hosts in Toronto on Monday evening in their first international warm-up match ahead of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup
Nigeria senior women forced Canada to a 0-0 draw at the Kia Training Ground, Toronto in an International Friendly tie played on Monday.
The game played closed doors was organised to test the level of readiness of both teams for the FIFA Women’s World Cup which begins in June.
The African champions failed in their attempts to beat John Herdman’s ladies whose efforts in the second half could only fetch them draw.
Nigeria will continue to fine tune strategies for their opening game against Sweden on June 8 while hosts Canada will battle England on May 29 in another friendly.
