The Leaven That Leaveneth The Household Of God (1I)

Today we shall look at the concluding part of the topic “the leaven that leaveneth the household of God” which we started last week.
By the parable of the fig tree in Matthew 21:19, Jesus Christ also gave a practical illustration of the character of a hypocrite, who pretends to be what he/she is not. This particular fig tree sheweth forth green leaves which attracted Jesus, hoping that he would find fruits on it, whereas the fig tree had no fruits. Jesus CURSED the fig tree right there for its hypocrisy! Likewise also, all hypocrites in the house of God are cursed children who shall receive the greater damnation that will lead them to hell, if they do not repent!
The other leaven that Jesus warned His disciples to beware of, is the leaven of Herod as written in Mark 8:15 which reads “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the leaven of Herod.” To understand this leaven or doctrine of Herod, we need to remind ourselves of the activities of Herod and his religion. Herod was a heathen or pagan king who hated the truth and so his religion was heathenistic or paganistic. Herod was that wicked king who killed John the Baptist during his birthday celebration. He also killed James the brother of John with the sword. He later apprehended Peter; to kill him but the period coincided with the season when he was to celebrate his pagan festival of the goddess queen of Easter. This season of the celebration of the goddess of Easter forbade any killing. More-so, it was a merry making occasion for the king and his people. And so, he had to keep Peter in prison, until after this pagan celebration of Easter, which was celebrated by all the pagans in the king’s domain. As written in Acts 12:4, “And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him: intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.”
And so Jesus Christ warned his disciples and indeed all true children of God in this generation to beware of the doctrine of Herod, that is, these pagan celebrations or ceremonies and festivals which contradict the doctrine of the word of Truth. All worldly celebrations and worldly ceremonies, like birthday, Easter, Christmas, that go on inside the church, and all the revelings, banquetings, surfeitings, constitute the leaven of Herod. The doctrine of Herod is indeed a doctrine of lying vanities, part of which is the Vanity Fair that is practiced amongst the Gentiles. The Gentiles walk in the vanity of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to walk all uncleanness with greediness, as written in Ephesians 4:17-19.
Scripturally, a leaven is a strong negative spiritual influence that changes, in a very subtle and quiet way, the spiritual condition or spiritual foundation of a true church, and if not quickly dealt with, it can leaven the whole lump. And the spiritual foundation and/or spiritual condition of any church will determine whether that particular church is leading her congregation along the pathway to the kingdom of heaven or not. And it is only the true church, free from any leaven, whose pillar and ground is truth that can lead the congregation along the narrow way that leads to eternal life in heaven. A leaven can also be any sin in the household of God, which if not dealt with, can rapidly spread amongst the members of the congregation as written in 1 Corinthians 5:1-6.
Satan, through the religious system, known in Revelation 17:5 as Mystery Babylon, the Great, the Mother of Harlots and abominations of the earth, corrupts the word of truth with the leaven of the wine of her fornication until the entire truth becomes corrupted. In Matthew 13:33, Jesus described what she does to the truth and to the kingdom of heaven and I quote – “Another parable spake he unto them; the kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.” When this woman corrupts the word of truth through her ministers, who are also harlots, then another spirit takes over the church; another gospel is being preached in the church, giving way to the preaching of another Jesus in the church as written in 2 Corinthians 11:4. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 2:17 and I quote “For we are not as many which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God speak we in Christ.” This is Paul’s confirmation that many so-called ministers of God corrupt the word of truth, thereby bewitching their foolish followers not to obey the truth; as written in Galatians 3:1a and I quote “O FOOLISH Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that you should not obey the truth…”
