Gov Okowa Urges Nigerians To Dedicate The Country To God

IT was a night of praises and dedication as various gospel artistes from all over the country stormed Asaba at the weekend for a “Night of Praise” programme hosted by Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State as part of his Inauguration programme and to dedicate his Administration and the state to God.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Okowa urged Nigerians to dedicate their country and lives to the glory of God so as to experience prosperity.
He charged them to turn to God at all times asserting that “we need to always trust God, be committed to him, embrace him and continue to look up to him as he alone is able to impart on our lives, family, state, and nation and take us to the next level”.
Continuing, he said, “We realise that the best thing to do is to dedicate the state and Nigeria to the glory of God, the glory of the Lord will fill Delta State and we shall prosper and that prosperity will be felt by all Deltans. I plead with all Deltans to turn to God, Praise him for peace and prosperity to reign in the state”.
Governor Okowa reaffirmed his trust in God and showered praises on him for seeing him through various challenges, stressing that the nation’s challenges would be a thing of the past.
In an Exhortation, Reverend Anyansi said that Delta State was starting on a right footing by going back to God and praising him for his goodness in their lives, adding that God was watching the state and would make it prosper over its challenges.
He reminded Deltans that when we praise God, we challenge him to do more for us.
The ceremony had in attendance Deltans from all walks of life, including the first lady, Dame Edith Okowa, Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro and his spouse, immediate past Deputy Governor, Professor Amos Utuama and Senator James Manager.
Gospel Artistes that performed at the ceremony included Franklin Edwards, Sam Okposo, Lara George, Chioma Jesus and Chichi, Buchi.
