“His Excellency, Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa is the first Senator to become the Governor of Delta State; he has a very outstanding track record having once served as the SSG, besides holding other political offices including commissionership in the preceding governments. With all that credential, there is no doubt to the fact that, he has garnered the wealth of political experience required to govern the state with prowess and dexterity.
“Worth noting is that, as a former senator, he has garnished his state governance experience with national leadership knowledge and quality which is an added advantage. I make bold to say therefore that, the man is well equipped and positioned to pilot the affairs of the Delta State thereby moving it to higher heights.
“It is therefore my candid appeal that every ethnic nation which constitutes Delta State should give the new government maximum support so as to enable it deliver.”
Furthermore, Chief (Major) Egone, rtd, a staunch member of the Delta State PDP Elders Council noted that, no government can function well if such government is being litigated and embattled by individuals or group, stressing that Dr Okowa, as a detribalized Deltan need the full cooperation of all to succeed.
He also stated that other political parties should allow a peaceful atmosphere to prevail in the state so as to enable him perform creditably and satisfactorily.
The Ogbo’fovwi of Ughelli Kingdom however enjoined the Urhobo people in particular to put aside all forms of ethnic and individual interest and support the Senator Okowa-led government so as to afford him deliver the dividends of democracy to the entire state.
In the same vein, Chief Egone hailed the appointment of Rt. Hon. Festus Ovie Agas as Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), noting that his choice by the governor is a show of political sagacity.
The PDP chieftain emphasized that, Ovie Agas having served as Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Chairman, Direct Labour Agency and Director General Okowa Campaign Organization, a political ship which berthed the Delta State PDP on the shore of election victory, he pointed out that there is no doubt to the fact that he would deliver as the engine room of this government.

Festus Ovie Agas as Secretary to the State Government, SSG, is like placing the square pegs in the square holes believing that if they are given the necessary support, the team would certainly deliver.
