Appointments By Okowa Based On Merit –PDP Boss

DELTA State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Edwin Uzor has said the appointments made so far by the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa was based on merit and hard work for the progress of the party in the state.
Chief Uzor stated this yesterday when the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, Chief Festus Ochonogor paid the State Working Committee of the party a courtesy visit at the PDP state secretariat, Asaba.
Uzor, who noted that the appointments made so far were the reflection of the true ideology of the PDP in the state, said that it showed that Governor Okowa believed in merit and hard work, adding that the spread had been fair and inclusive.
He said that the appointment of Chief Ochonogor was a reward for his commitment to the cause of the party, describing him as an astute politician with a good understanding of the political terrain of the state.
While disclosing that the end of any election was the beginning of another, Chief Uzor urged PDP members not to relent in the quest to take the party to the next level, noting that nobody would be shortchanged in the distribution of democratic dividends.
He assured that the state leadership of the party would continue to provide the direction for the present administration to deliver on its mandate and charged those lucky to have been appointed into positions of responsibility to justify such appointments by living above board.
In his remarks, the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, Chief Festus Ochonogor said he was at the state PDP office to familiarize with the executive and pledged his total cooperation with the party.
He promised to justify the confidence reposed in him by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
