Okowa Urges Monarchs, Youths To Rededicate Selves To God

Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has called on youths, traditional rulers and community leaders to rededicate themselves to God to enable God take charge of their lives and the total wellbeing of their land.
The governor made the call yesterday at a thanksgiving service held in honour of the Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro and his family at Believers Loveworld, popularly known as Christ Embassy, Warri.
Dr. Okowa said, irrespective of the fall in oil price and the state debt profile, his administration will fulfill all electioneering promises and sued for the input of all elected, appointed officers as well as Deltans in bringing the needed transformation to the state. He advised youths and community leaders involved in frustrating development in their areas to desist from it as such will not be accepted, emphasising that major decisions to be taken will be to the good of all Deltans.
The governor said he was glad to have Barr Otuaro as his deputy, pledging their willingness to do the right things at all times and also appealed to Deltans to correct them when the need arose. He noted that the present economic predicament cannot hamper the prosperity for all Deltans agenda of the present administration.
The Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro in company of his wife, Engr Ebierin Otuaro while delivering his testimony, said, his emergence as deputy governor was an act of God and promised to remain a faithful child of God in all his actions.
He noted that when a man holds on to God’s word, when he listens to God’s word, he will wholeheartedly, in return, testify, rejoicing and give thanks to that which God has done for him.
According to him, “if you have observed very strongly the political events and developments that cumulated in the emergence of Senator Okowa as Governor and I, Barr. Otuaro, as Deputy Governor, you will come to a firm conclusion that it was the mighty handiwork of God”.
Barr Otuaro thanked Deltans for believing in the Okowa/Otuaro ambition as well as believing in their prosperity manifesto and prayed God to crown all their development plans with resounding success. He used the occasion to reaffirm that they have promised Deltans before God almighty that they are going to deliver prosperity as encapsulated in the SMART agenda.
The deputy governor noted that there is spirituality in the hands of every nation, especially Delta State. He said the divinity that changed the things in the life of men will be experienced in Delta State. He urged Deltans not to be afraid, saying that the Okowa-led administration will not only tackle the challenges by clearing all financial debts, but will deliver prosperity over and above what we have been experiencing in the state.
In a sermon, the zonal pastor Christ Embassy, Warri zone, Pastor Siji Dara said appreciation through thanksgiving was a way to receive more elevation from God.
Pastor Dara said thanksgiving is a show of appreciation, a demonstration of gratitude, and a recognition of God’s faithfulness to us who enjoyed his kindness. He noted that we are thanking God that whatever we have lost can now be restored as a people.
He noted that when Christians give thanks to God, they are saying to God that they have not seen the future, but God has seen it and they believe and put their faith in him.
He said Christians should give thanks to God for Delta State, asserting that Delta State is a great state where progress is possible, irrespective of the different challenges. He noted that the state is advancing today because we have a governor who is God-fearing and prayed that government will fulfill all desires for this state.
