Community Chairman Commends Okowa For Floating Youth Empowerment Schemes

THE Chairman of Umuagu Community in Asaba, Mr. Jude Nwokobia, has commended the state Government, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for floating empowerment programmes for the youths and farmers in the state.
The community leader made the commendation yesterday at his country home in Asaba while speaking to The Pointer.
According to Nwokobia, these are good steps that will help in actualizing the campaign promises and the prosperity for all Deltans of the administration.
He called on all the youths in the state, particularly the ones from Asaba, to take advantage of the policies and programmes of the Okowa government to better their lives.
Mr. Nwokobia equally urged all farmers in the state to make good the opportunity and advised the government to checkmate the activities of political farmers so that the aims and objectives of the programmes will not be defeated.
Don’t use the money to marry more wives or use the money to drinking, but use the empowerment money for the purpose it is meant for and take yourselves away from the poverty line, he advised.
In doing this, they will create jobs for themselves and create jobs for many others who will be working with them, the community leader pointed out.
He also advised the government to be sincere in selecting the beneficiaries so that no part of the state will be left, adding that in doing so all will have sense of belonging in the administration of the state.
While once again lauding the government for initiating the empowerment programmes, he cautioned against hijack of the programmes by few persons who may be close to corridors of power.
I appeal to the organizers and the beneficiaries to do their own part so that the empowerment programs will be successful and the prosperity for all Deltans of the government will be realized.
