CIE Implores Retired Schools Heads To Invest In Profitable Ventures

THE Chief Inspector of Education (CIE) in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mrs. Patience Okwuchi, has advised retired heads of schools in the state to invest in profitable ventures in order to safeguard their future.
Okwuchigave the advice during a send-forth ceremony held at Pace Hotel, Agbor in honour of retired Heads of Schools in the area by the Association of Heads of Primary Schools of Nigeria (AHPSON), Ika South Chapter.
The CIE who was represented by the Deputy Chief Inspector of Education, Mrs. Charity Osemiha, said that the advice had become necessary as it would enable them to cushion the effect of retirement which, she said, was a necessary endin the service of every public officer, even as she applauded, members of the association for packaging the ceremony for its retirees.
While saying that retirement was a period to rest and enjoy after meritorious service, the CIE, also advised the retirees who, she described as good managers, to use their vast wealth of experience to develop their communities by rendering useful advice that would move their various communities forward.
In his remarks, the Head of Department of Quality Assurance in Ika South, Deacon John Nkpecha who presided over the ceremony, commended the organizers of the programme for the love shown to the people and the retirees who, he said, have done well by attending the occasion in spite of their tight schedules, pointing out that they the organizers of the ceremony should not relent in the good work they have started by ensuring continuity.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Ekwuazom Humble Friday, congratulated the retirees on their successful retirement, even as he thanked the organizers of the programme for their laudable efforts, just as he stressed the need for the retirees to plan well towards their retirement.
Responding separately, two of the retirees, Mr. B.S. Okpokor and F.B.C Uku-Okoh expressed joy and appreciation to members of the association for organizing the ceremony in their honour. The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of souvenirs to the retirees by the association.
