Aniocha South NUT Boss Comrade Adose Assures Of Transparent Govt

THE newly elected Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Aniocha South Branch, Comrade Josephine Adose, has assured teachers in the locality of a transparent and open government that will accommodate the interest of all.
Comrade Adose, who made the pledge shortly after her inauguration in Ogwashi-Uku, said teachers in the local government will experience, dramatic change in their affairs while her tenure lasts, just as she called for constructive criticism and involvement of teachers in the day to day running of the union.
While commending the out gone executive for piloting the affairs of the teachers within the past four years, the new NUT boss sued for a closer working relationship between the teachers in Aniocha South and her government, adding that it is the duty of all teachers to positively contribute their quote a towards the development and advancement of their welfare.
Comrade Adose, who stressed the need for the prompt payment of teachers salaries at all times, maintained that teachers’ welfare cannot be compromised by any tier of government. “We all know that teachers are the parents of all people, irrespective of the person’s position in the society. This is because there is no person who had gone through the four walls of the schools, starting from basic to secondary and higher institutions that was not taught by a teacher.
“I am, therefore, using this medium to appeal to government and stakeholders in the education industry to make it a priority in funding the welfare of teachers and providing them with enabling environment to perform their work”, she said.
While promising to partner with stakeholders in the education industry within Aniocha South Local Government to better the lots of teachers, the NUT boss also urged the teachers to rededicate themselves to their duties through impacting the requisite knowledge to the children.
Earlier, the out gone chairman of NUT in the locality, Comrade Simon Odili, had lauded the teachers for the opportunity given them to serve, just as he called on them to co-operate with the new administration in piloting the affairs of the union.
“We assure you of our unwavering commitment to the goals of the union as we bow out. With God on our side, we shall look forward to a continued service to the union by assisting to uplift the ever-growing image of NUT”, he affirmed.
