Civil Sersvants, Engine Room Of Government –Otuaro

ALL cadres of civil servants in the state have been urged to see themselves as engine room of government, hence, the need to contribute their quota to the realisation of the SMART agenda of the present administration.
The Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, who made the call at an enlarged meeting with members of staff of his office in Asaba, noted that the meeting was to fraternise with the staff as well as strategise on ways to perform optimally in all duties assigned to them.
The Deputy Governor appealed to all public servants to uphold ideals that will move the state and the profession forward, emphasising that no meaningful development can thrive in an atmosphere of rancour and acrimony.
He said the era of truancy, favouritism, intimidation, and use of official hours for frivolities was over and urged them to redouble efforts and rise up to the occasion to meet the high expectations of the office from the masses, adding that government’s prosperity for all Deltans agenda can only be achieved when all hands are on deck and are poised towards optimal service delivery.
Barr. Otuaro asserted that human capital development and improved working environment is dear to the present administration and assured that hardwork will be rewarded, just as he noted that no department will be left uncared for, assuring that due priorities will be given to all staff.
According to him, vocational schools were going to start grooming students on various fields to equip them with requisite knowledge to become employers of labour rather than job seekers on graduation.
He disclosed that youth entrepreneurial development programmes of the state government, led by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, was a deliberate move to tackle poverty and unemployment as well as provide prosperity for all Deltans as encapsulated in the five point development agenda, SMART.
The deputy governor thanked the state work force for the support given to the present government assuring that their interest will always receive favourable attention. The meeting was attended by all political appointees in the Deputy Governor’s office as well as all cadres of staff in the office.
