Macaulay Tells Isoko PDP Supporters
The Secretary to Delta State Government and Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Leader in Isoko North Local Government Area, Comrade Ovuozorie Macaulay has appealed to PDP supporters in the area to ensure a peaceful and hitch free party congress scheduled for tomorrow.
Macaulay made the appeal while addressing PDP stakeholders and Elders in a meeting at Nelrose Hotel Asaba, yesterday.
The SSG reminded the people of the desire of PDP to conduct a free and fair congress, adding that there should be a mutual agreement by all stakeholders where a consensus list is required.
He said, the PDP in Isoko was more than before waxing stronger and thanked the people for their support for the party in the past. He also advised the people not to allow individual interest to override their collective goal.
According to him Isoko North in particular, and Delta State in general are strong hold of PDP and promised the people more dividends of democracy.
Responding, a former chairman of PDP in Isoko North, Chief Edward Onowharhua thanked Macauay for his commitment to the democratization of the party at the grassroots level. Explaining that the SSG had shown qualities of a leader who manage men and resources with the fear of God.
Onowhorhua used the occasion to assure the SSG that the party’s congress in Isoko was going to be peaceful and urged supporters to conduct theirselves as law abiding citizens.
The meeting was attended by the member representing Isoko North in the State House of Assembly Hon. Tim Owhefere, Commissioner for land and survey Hon. Sir. Patrick Ferife and Chief Adviser to the Governor on Legislaltive Matters, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro and other top government functionaries.
