Church Building:Uduaghan Donates N5m

THE fund raising for a Church building by the Saint Michael’s Anglican Church, Otor-Owhe, in Isoko North Local Government Area has received a boost with the state Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan donating five million naira to the fund.
The donation was announced by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay who re-emphasised the belief of the Uduaghan’s administration in God and the need to worship God with all that one has.
Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay said Governor Uduaghan, who had made similar donations towards the growth of the work of God elsewhere was always persuaded to do more because of his firm belief that this government has its foundation in God.
Like the biblical Joshua, Comrade Macaulay called on all his friends and political associates to join him to contribute towards the building of the house 0f God holding back his fair donation of one million naira until his friends and political associates have made their donations.
And as expected the appeal by the Secretary to the State Government triggered off large donations towards the building fund. First, Commissioners Patrick Othuke Ferife of Lands, Surveys and Urban Development, Hon. Ben Igbakpa for Transport and two members of the state House of Assembly, Honourables Tim Owhefere and Talib Tebiti who announced their various donations and urged people to respond to the call by the Secretary to the State Government.
Buoyed up by the number of friends and political associates of the Secretary to the state Government, Comrade Macaulay, more and more people either pledged some amount of money or made cash donations towards the building fund.
Earlier, the Secretary to the State Government, commended the women folk for their commitment to the work of God, especially in praying for the well-being of the men folk and the community in general
The Chairman of the Fund Raising Committee, retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Felix Ogbaudu thanked all that responded to the invitation of the Church and urged them to donate towards the fund to ensure the completion of the building.
He explained that about sixty million naira was still needed to complete the new church building to which over thirty million naira and been expended.
Professor (Chef) Godwin Ovuworie who represented His Royal Highness (HRH) King Okurakpo (JP) Odologbo Okugbe-Isoko Kingdom, who was the chairman, similarly urged all to contribute towards the fund. He, however, did not announce hs donation but promised tio make it to the Fund Raising Committee.
Over half of the expected fund was realized at the ceremony which attracted Traditional rulers, politicians and men of God from far and near.
