HPMS Are Backbones Of Subeb, Says Osademe

THE Secretary, Ndokwa West Local
Education Authority (LEA),
Comrade Alexander Osademe has
described Heads of Personnel Management
(HPMs) as the solid foundations
of the State Universal Basic Education
Board (SUBEB)
Osademe’s view was contained in
his goodwill message on the occasion
of the hosting of Association of Heads
of Personnel Management of Local
Government Education Authorities of
Nigeria, Delta State Chapter by Ndokwa
West Office.
The LEA Secretary explained that the
HPMs are important, especially in terms
of store records, training, official Correspondence,
minutes, queries and
discipline of staff, adding that the
crop of the present HPMs in the state
are determined people who are not
interested in their personal gains, but
the development of SUBEB.
Osademe said that the Ndokwa
West HPM, Mr. Ogiriki Bernard has
demonstrated professionalism since
he was posted to the office. According
to the LEA scribe, Mr. Ogiriki
was responsible for the meaningful
sustenance of education development
in Ndokwa West. He however
recalled that the report of verification
by data Infosec Consult Ltd bordered
on “over-stepping, , age declaration,
staff without TRCN ,irregular Conversions,
irregular promotion and
others, pointing out Ndokwa West
LEA staff are suffering the difference
in the salaries of September and
October 2016 due to the verification
exercise.
While appealing to the HPMs association
to use their positions to
interface with the board, with a view
to rectifying the anomalies, Osademe
noted that the situation had caused
severe hardship on the staff.
The LEA scribe also disclosed that
acute shortage of teaching and nonteaching
staff had greatly affected
schools in the local government area,
including enrolment of pupils in the
public schools and urged government
to look into it.”
