LG Polls Campaign: Come, Give Okowa Rousing Welcome

As Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa visits Ika South Local Government Area tomorrow, November 22, 2017 to formally flag off the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) local government election campaign, the Chairman of PDP in the local government area, Hon. Collins Bello has called on members of the party and the good people of the local government to come out en masse to give the governor a rousing welcome to Ika South.
Bello, who made the call while speaking at the weekend, during an enlarged meeting of members of the party held at the PDP secretariat in Agbor, urged various ward chairmen in the local government area to massively mobilise PDP faithful to the ceremony billed to hold at the Public Field, Agbor.
While describing the proposed governor’s visit to the area as symbolic, the PDP chairman said that all is set for members of the party to receive the governor in grand style, even as he stressed the need for all hands to be on deck to ensure total victory for the party in the forthcoming January 6, 2018 local government election in the state.
Speaking further, he urged leaders of the party in various political wards to lead by example by attending ward meetings, adding that the advice had become necessary as it would go a long way in portraying them as exemplary leaders in their various wards.
According to him, when a leader attends his/her ward meeting, he/she would help inspire the people’s confidence in his/her leadership ability, pointing out that the leader, members of the party and the party itself stand to benefit a lot from their (leaders) regular attendance at ward meetings.
He, also, harped on the need for ward chairmen to always invite PDP political leaders in their respective wards to their meetings so as to build a formidable, united and grassroots oriented party in the area in particular and the state in general.
Speaking separately, Mr. Peter Idion, Mr. John Obiazi, Dr. Emmanuel Tibi and Prince Innocent Obaseki who reiterated the need for leaders to attend ward meetings, also called on members of the party to continue to work together as members of one indivisible family, adding that they should remain faithfully committed to the PDP.
