Sports Commission Boss Inaugurates Committee For Ika Rangers

THE Chairman, Delta State Sports Commission, Chief Tonobok Okowa yesterday, inaugurated a seven – man Contact/ Fund Raising Committee for Ika Rangers Football Club, Agbor with the mandate of sourcing fund to complement government’s effort in the running of the football club; work out modalities to ensure that the Club gain promotion by the end of the current season; See to the smooth running and adequate maintenance of the Club and to handle any other matter that would enhance the further development of the F C.
The inaugurated members led by the Chairman Fabian Egwu and Vice Chairman Nkeki Henry include Lucky Sunday, Jerry Okonta, Ottah Ifeanyi, Omorodion Charles and the Secretary, Egwudiuzor Frank.
The Chairman, Egwu assured the Chairman and Management of the Commission that his committee will live up to their responsibilities as they will leave no stone unturned for their goals to be achieved in the shortest possible time.
The Director General (D G)of the Sports Commission, Mr. Victor Onagagamue said that the State is willing to encourage the running of football Clubs as one of the most vibrant states in sports development in the country but would also encourage the assistance of private sectors in sports development hence the inauguration of this committee.
He therefore enjoined other Clubs like Warri Wolves, Isoko United, and the rest to follow suit in the establishment of such committees to help in the running of their affairs.
The D G noted that communities within the world have a way of assisting the clubs within their area and advised that the committee members should attract such attentions within their immediate environments.
The Director for Sports Development, Mr. Chris Anazia also encouraged members of the committee to exploit all necessary avenues for the achievement of the laudable Rangersgoals assigned to them as most clubs in the world are financed by those in their localities and not necessarily by the government of the day.
