Workers Told ToTake Advantage Of Public Complaints Commission To Seek Redress To Injustice

Deltans and other Nigerians in general, particularly
workers, have been called upon to take advantage
of the services rendered by the Public Complaints
Commission to seek redress on perceived injustice in
their work places.
The call was made by the Federal Commissioner in
charge of Delta State, Sir Matthias Etoh, while speaking
on the activities of the commission on a live DBS Radio
programme in Asaba.
He disclosed that the commission was established in
1975 and since then, had helped in resolving complaints
bordering on injustice done to workers and will continue
to do so.
While saying that the commission was established by
an Act of the National Assembly, Sir Etoh called on Deltans
and Nigerians, particularly workers, who are facing
injustice from their superiors to go to their offices located
in the state and country at large to seek redress, free.
According to him, “The commission offers free services
to members of the public, adding that the commission’s
funding comes from the Federation Account, hence their
services are free and does not demand money from anyone
do its duties.”
The state commission boss said that the the commission
has offices in Asaba, Ughelli, Agbor, Warri, Isoko
and other places in the state and urged Deltans to take
advantage of the services offered by the commission to
seek redress on injustice done to them.
He,however, made it clear that the commission ‘doesn’t
mediate on matters before the police, courts or any of the
law enforcement agencies’ as there are also recognised
avenues to resolve injustice done to anybody.
While calling on youths to stay away from crime, Sir
Etoh said that according to one of his brothers in ‘Pigin
English’ “Mugu Nor Dey Prison, But Guy Men,” meaning
that those who don’t want to obey the law and live
normal life are always locked up in prison for one crime
or the other.
