Yuletide: Police Warns Delta Residents Against Use Of Fireworks

RESIDENTS of Asaba, and Delta State in general have been warned against the use of fireworks particularly in this yuletide period.
The warning came from the Delta State Police command in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka made available to newsmen in Asaba.
According to him in statement “the command has announced that the ban on the use of fireworks is still in force and that the command will enforce the extant laws prohibiting the use of fireworks like ‘knock-out, banger’ etc”
He pointed out that the ban is necessary to safeguard public safety and avoid distractions to security operatives, especially during the yuletide season.
The command enjoins members of the public not to run afoul of the law as anyone caught will be decisively dealt with.
The police image maker noted that the commissioner of police assures Deltans of their safety at all times and called on them to continue to support the police and other security agencies in their untiring efforts at providing a peaceful and secure environment for the people of the state.
