Govt Recognises Onyeobi’s Great Contributions To State’s Devt

The Delta State Executive
Counc i l has commended
the Iyase of Asaba Chief
Patrick Onyeobi for his immense
contributions to the development of
the defunct Bendel State and Delta
The State Commissioner for
Basic and Secondary Education
Barrister Chiedu Ebie revealed this
when he handed over a letter of
recognition to Chief Onyeobi in Asaba.
The Commissioner said the State
Executive Council met and found him
worthy for the recognition as a sign
of respect for his hard work.
Barrister Ebie described Chief
Onyeobi as peace- loving statesman
and a driver of discipline and
excellence in the Civil Service
when he served as Secretary to the
Government and Head of Service of
the defunct Bendel State.

temporary and permanent sites of
the Federal College of Education
(Technical) Asaba, the Education
commissioner said the State Executive
Council have named the new college
recently established in the state
capital after him(Chief Onyeobi).
Barrister Chiedu Ebie said the school
is to be known and called Isioma
Onyeobi College,Asaba.
The Commissioner appealed to
the traditional institution to ensure
that the facilities in the school were
protected from vandalism and the
staff given maximum cooperation by
members of the community.
He congratulated Chief Onyeobi
on the achievement. Reacting to the
recognition, the Iyase of Asaba, Chief
Patrick Onyeobi expressed gratitude
to the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi
Okowa and the State Executive Council
for the recognition.
Meanwhile Chief Onyeobi called
on Nigerians to think of the unity
of the country rather than personal
gains. He noted that the leaders
had not fared well and called on
Nigerians to work out best modalities
that would favour all. Chief Onyeobi
called for restructuring and true
federalism and stressed the need
everyone to embrace peace. The
Iyase of Asaba said because of lack
of trust, ‘there are augmentations at
all nooks and cronies of the country.’
He observed that lack of employment
and hunger in the country had made
things worse. Chief Onyeobi ,however
,called on the youths to embrace
positive things and shun violence.
