CHAIRMAN, Governing Council, Delta State School of Health Technology,
Ofuoma-Ughelli Dr. Nelson Ejakpovi has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will get overwhelming victory in the forthcoming local government council elections
in the state.
Dr. Ejakpovi gave the assurance
at the weekend while speaking at Emevor, Isoko North local government area of the state when the PDP Vice- Chairmanship candidate for Isoko North Chairmanship race, Hon. Joy Okor led PDP supporters to visit the Okpako-
Ewheya (oldest woman) of Emevor.
“Isoko North is PDP, Emevor in particular, belongs to the PDP, both the old and the young are members of the PDP, we are going to have overwhelming
victory in Isoko because, this election is such that all the candidates emerged through a democratic process where the people called on them to come out and represent them in elective positions,” Dr Ejakpovi
said.
He added, “on January 6, 2018, we know we are going to win because, there is no opposition
but, we are intensifying efforts, carrying our enlightenment
campaign for our people to come out on that day and vote. We are aware that there is no small election; so, we are working for our people to come out and exercise their democratic right.”
“The Vice Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Okor, is loved by the people, you can feel the vibration from the women that they are going to have a voice in the council, this is democracy
in action because, as you are aware, it is the women that are more in population when it comes to political activities and they are ready to come out on that day to cast their votes,” Dr Ejakpovi who is renowned for his grassroots mobilization abilities stated.
He congratulated Hon. Okoron
emerging as the first Vice Chairmanship candidate of the party in the area, observing, “despite her intelligence, her academic prowess, she is humble
and has shown leadership abilities which means, Isoko North can only be better.”
“I can confidently tell you that we are looking beyond the Saturday elections but, the gubernatorial elections coming up in 2019 when we will come out again without
dissenting voice to vote for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa; yes! in 2019, we will vote for Governor Okowa for him to continue with his good work till 2023 because, in PDP we have a zoning formula which has made the Governor an automatic candidate for our party for the 2019 gubernatorial
elections,” he disclosed.
Asked if there will be no opponent
within the PDP against the Governor, Dr Ejakpovi said, “who will oppose him, he has carried everybody along, he is a true party man and he has increased the fortunes of the party through his leadership
style, all over the state, all that you can hear is Okowa till 2023, so, the local government
elections is to let him know that in Isoko North, we are going to have 100 per cent votes for the PDP preparatory for the 2019 governorship election when there will be a repeat performance.”
