Uduaghan Tasks Motorists On Vehicle Documents’ Renewal

DELTA State Commissioner for
Transport Mr. Vincent Uduaghan
has called on motorists
in the State to obtain and renew their
Vehicle Road Worthiness as well as
other vehicle particulars that have
expired in order to avoid altercations
and possible fines from Vehicle
Inspection Officers (VIOs).
The Commissioner who spoke
through the Director of the Department
of Vehicle Inspection (DVI)
Engr. Ezonebi Oyakemegbegha stated
that “it is paramount to always renew
all vehicle documents, including
Road Worthiness Certificate, Driver’s
License, Vehicle License and to put
vehicles in good working mechanical
condition”.
Engr. Ezonebi appealed to vehicle
owners to endeavour to obtain the
required vehicle documents for those
that don’t have and renewal for persons
with expired vehicle particulars.
He added that such documents
should be obtained from genuine
sources, stressing that “fake document
could lead to prosecution and
expired ones can attract monetary
fines, ranging from twenty thousand
naira (N20,000) and above.
Ezonebi disclosed that a monitoring
team, to ensure compliance from
motorists in the State has been put in
place to check all irregularities concerning
vehicle documents.
