Why Christians Must Pray, Fast For Nigeria Now, By CAN

THE Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Uvwie
Chapter, has called on Christians all over the country
to “pray and not faint, and pray without season”.
The Vice Chairman of the association, Apostle Dr. Godstreasure
Akeh made the call in his message at Victory
Revival Church in Effurun.
He averred that ‘if Christians are to pray, it is now,
saying that this is not unconnected with the situation in
the country. Akeh said Christians should have attitude of
God- consciousness and make prayer their attitude, for
Christian’s prayer’s should be like breathing and what we
see should motivate us to pray.
He took his message from the book of (1Thesolonia
5:7-8), it says “For they that sleep in the night and they
that be drunken are chickens in the night. But let us who
are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith
and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God
hath not appointed us to wrath but to obtain salvation by
our Lord Jesus Christ.
In a similar vein, the chairman of “CAN” Uvwie, Prophet
Gbenga Agunsoye in his speech thanked God Almighty
who, through His mercy and love has brought us into
another year 2018.
This year’s theme:“Seek the Lord,” he said is most appropriate
and timely since so many evil is happening and
Christian believers are faced with so many forces contending
with them and its leaders.
He said nothing can be done but seek the Lord’s intervention
as the early churches did in Acts 12:1-11. “When
their faith was under attack, the church prayed and not
complained and God sent His angels to intervene to save
His church from shame and disgrace. He called on both
leaders and followers to seek the Lord as never before
and not to complain because complaining will not change
anything but prayers will bring our desired change.
The God who saved Peter from untimely death will
save the church in Nigeria and other countries as we seek
Him, he said.
Those who witnessed the prayers included the Ovie of
Uvwie, Abe 1 Emmanuel Sideso JP, Apostle Dr. Godstreasure
Oghenaomele Akeh, Bishop Dr. Joshua Aiguekegbe,
Ven. D.E.E.P Onoyovwere, Evangelist Samuel Ogeh and
