Vest Time And Lifetime (I)

It is my pleasure to welcome you to yet another insightful and powerful series of teachings. I am persuaded that God will use the revelations in these teachings to reposition your life for a brighter future with better prospects for your business, health, family and career, in Jesus name! Let me begin by submitting to you that life is like a farmland, a sort of an agricultural landscape in which we cultivate the seeds of our thoughts, words and actions.
And as we already know: for every agricultural endeavour, there is always seedtime and harvest time. Every plant brings forth multiple proportions of fruits of harvest, much more than what was seeded. In this perspective, there is always harvest time for every seed of word, thought or action–good or bad. “Words are seeds” is one of the finest phrases I have heard. And this is very instructive here. Whenever we open our mouths to speak, we are actually planting seeds in our life-farmland. No doubt, the words we speak are seeds. Bible talks about “fruit of mouth” (see Proverbs 18:20). For there to be “fruit of mouth” means there is “seed of mouth”. This refers to “words of mouth”. Words-seeds grow, mature and bring harvest into our lives–right words or wrong ones.
Now, since words are seeds, it means thoughts are seeds too. This truth is confirmed in Jeremiah 6:19 when the Bible says, “Hear, O earth: behold, I will evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts.” See that? Our thoughts are seeds capable of bearing fruit. Be mindful, therefore, what you think! The same goes for actions: every action we take is a seed. Jeremiah 32:19 says, “Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give everyone according to the fruit of his doings.”
The possibility of our deeds bearing fruit signifies that all we do are seeds as fruits proceed from seeds.
Except by mercy, those that sow evil seeds surely reap evil fruits. No escape! No exemption! No excuses! God’s Word in Genesis 8:22 says: “While the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest…shall not cease.” As long as this earth is in place, there must be seed time and harvest! That means no one can escape his or her harvest time in this lifetime!
Besides the inevitability of harvest, it is important for us to also bear in mind that when fruits come, they come in multiple folds, much more than the quantity and quality of what was sown. Our lives, therefore, are shaped by the seeds of thoughts, words and actions we sow daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. This demands extra caution; caution in what we sow by our thoughts, words and deeds. If we are not cautious of what we sow, we end up reaping undesirable fruits that turn around to hurt us, our health, business, family and career. So many people live their lives as though they are the final authorities in the universe.
They tend to forget that there is God somewhere looking, listening, recording and judging all human activities–our words, actions, etc. Their think about whatever comes to their minds; they speak whatever words come to their mouths and take whatever action their hearts can formulate, as if there are no consequences. But truth is: no evil conversation or confession is without consequence!
If you specialize in tearing people down with your mouth and speaking lies against them; if your stock in trade is to accuse them falsely, manipulate facts and information, and concoct figures–all in a bit to frame people up; expect your evil harvest soon! You cannot use your mouth carelessly and conclude it as a joke. God takes our words very seriously. That is why there is no excuse for unguided speech and wanton use of our mouths. May God help us all, in Jesus name!
Most troubles and calamities people suffer in life are direct consequences of their actions of yesterdays and yesteryears. What we reap today in our individual lives are seeds (thought-seeds, word-seeds and action-seeds) we planted yesterday. What we will reap tomorrow will come from the seeds we are sowing today. So, be cautious what you sow; be mindful what you plant in your life-farmland. Remember, not a few people are suffering punishments for the seeds of actions they planted in time past.
Contrary, most good fortunes and incidences of Providence are direct results of past good deeds. Whatever is the case, one thing is sure: no action or speech goes unrewarded! Some may hold the opinion that we can use our mouths the way we like, “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned” Matthew 12:36-37.
Just like words, our deeds are seeds too. If we do good deeds, we are sure to receive good rewards, “But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons” (Colossians 3:25). God owes no man. No one can escape the harvest of his lifetime activities. Right in this life, people receive blessings for the good they do, or punishment for evil done.
There is no favouritism, no partiality with God. He is no respecter of persons. Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall REAP, if we faint not.” Did you see the word “doing” there? This scripture makes us to understand that our “doings” are plants, seeds. Our deeds (acts and actions) are seeds–including our speech, for speech is, indeed, both an art and an act). They are seeds that will bear fruits which we shall reap in due season. In very clear terms, our actions are seeds that will definitely bear fruits.
Here is the conclusion of the matter: our lifetime is a seedtime whose harvest time cannot be evaded. Both the good deeds and the evil ones will be duly rewarded, here on earth. “Behold the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner” Proverbs 11:31.
There is no inhumanity done to man that shall not be rewarded in this lifetime. Likewise, no humane deed done to fellow man shall go unrewarded! May be you have been using your mouth wrongly, accusing people falsely; you scandalize and blackmail people for no just cause, you need to amend your ways.
If your actions have not been very good to people and you need God’s help, then pray this prayer with me now: Heavenly Father, I come to you, asking for mercy. I have used my mouth wrongly all these years. My actions have also been very ungodly. Forgive me and wash me from all unrighteousness. Take away the consequences of all my misdeeds both in word and indeed. Dear Lord, give me a fresh start and new beginning, in Jesus name!
