THE 11th edition of the “Mothers Arise,” – Let Your Voice Be Heard, organised by the office of Her Excellency, the Wife of Delta State Governor, Dame Edith Okowa held yesterday at the Unity Hall, Government House Asaba.
With the theme, ‘Brokenness: Needful For A Successful Walk With God (John 12:24)’, the event attracted thousands of women from different parts of the state, who were invited to arise and stand up for their responsibilities.
Speaking in a message titled, “Brokenness,
Needed For A Successful Walk With God,” Pastor (Mrs.) Ruth Aifobokhia, said that God does not need men or women that are not broken hearted for a successful work, rather mothers that are really broken hearted like him to work in his vineyard.
She said that mothers should arise in the place of prayers, arise in the place of evangelism and arise in every aspect of their lives for something good to happen in this country, saying that if mothers are not connected in the right place, their prayers and focus will be in vein.
“Given the special role that mothers play in their different families, it is believed that they can intercede on behalf of families and pray to God, especially at this time of the life of the nation,” she said.
According to Pastor Aifobokhia “Let us go back to the Lord and have an upright speech, control our tongue in anger, avoid pride, let us be broken hearted so that we can raise other women spiritually.”
For a broken hearted mother, she said takes up a responsibility and fights it out, cares and prays on her knees at all times for the good of every one.
Highlighting the blessings of a broken heart to include healing, curing sickness, peace, love, security, stability and prosperity,
she said that it removes sadness and gives us a position of headship, rulership among others, adding that God is telling us today to be broken hearted so that the later part of our lives would be better and more beautiful than before.
In her remarks, the Wife of the state Governor
and the Convener of the programme, Dame Edith Okowa who thanked everyone that yielded to the invitation said that until one recognises that something is wrong with him/her, that person will not solve his or her problem.
She enjoined women to always preach the gospel and emulate Christ-like life so that at the end, the word of God we hear will not be used against us.
According to her, “if you must propagate the gospel, you should be blameless, broken heartedness is the requirement for maximum
breakthrough”.
She thanked the immediate past governor’s
wife, Dcns. (Mrs.) Roli Uduaghan for planting a good seed; “Mothers Arise Prayers” and raising many alters of God in the state.
Earlier in her welcome charge, Barr. Kesiena
Samson noted that broken heartedness is the pass mark for anyone who wants to get through in life, function with God and excel in His vineyard, adding that God is still looking for women that are faithful indeed to work with.
Samson also thanked God for the 11th edition of Mothers Arise in the state and prayed that everyone should surrender to God totally, so that we can collaborate with him effectively.
