Odum Reiterates Govt Commitment To Reposition Courts

THE Special Adviser to the Governor on Legal Matters, Barrister Andrew Odum, has reiterated government’s continued effort to create conducive atmosphere for the courts to ensure quick dispensation of Justice in the state.
Odum made the assertion at the local government secretariat, Issele-Uku, while flagging-off his inspection/monitoring activities of the courts and prisons to ascertain the conditions of prisons, court and remand homes across the twenty-five local government areas of the state.
He said that the governor is ready to put in place a vibrant, effective and efficient administration for all the courts in Delta state and also create a synergy between the office of the special adviser, legal and all the courts to ensure that justice is done to all irrespective of your status in the society.
After the flag-off, the Special Adviser left for inspection of courts which took him to the High Court, Magistrate Court and Area Customary Court, Issele-uku , and the Odiani District Court, Ukwunzu, where he was conducted round the courts for on the sport assessment of the condition of the courts.
While addressing the staff of the various courts after the visit, the Special Adviser assured the staff of government commitment to reposition the courts and advised them to be diligent and committed to their duties and frowned at the lukewarm attitude and absenteeism as noticed in one of the magistrate courts where no staff was found on duty at the time of his visit.
The staff at Ukwunzu appealed for rehabilitation of the road between the town and Issele-Uku, the seat of Anocha North Local Government, while the Registrar at Issele-Uku High Court, Mr.Wilfred Osizagha appealed for staff bus and for the court rooms to be connected with electricity.
