Five years on as the Governor of Delta State, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa has practically defined the title attached to his position- His Excellency.
“The Governor has succeeded in uniting all the senatorial districts of the state and has registered in the minds of Deltans that he means his slogan- “Una Mata, Na My Mata”.
This was the view of the members of Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Delta State Chapter, as Gov Okowa marks his fifth year in office as governor, today Friday.
Speaking through its Sate Chairman, Comrade Kenneth Okoh, the association said Gov Okowa had taken some socio-economic and political decisions in the past five years that had stood him out and made him the political leader in Delta State.
The recent one, he said, was his decision to ban all forms of political consultations in the State, adding that it would have amounted to a distraction.
The decision, he said, had placed governance on top of his priority list and all Deltans should therefore cue behind him in order for him to take Delta State to the next level because he has performed excellently well”.
