Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick says the organizers of the Nigerian professional football league are struggling to attract sponsors to invest in the league.
The President of Nigeria Football Federation made this known during a social media chat with various sports journalists.
Pinnick said the board is to canvas for more sponsors for Nigeria’s league competitions, especially the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), but the ongoing pandemic has complicated things for the LMC.
“The truth is that the leagues have boards and the boards are to source for sponsorship for their leagues. But it has been tremendous hard work trying to get sponsorship for the leagues even before the pandemic. Now, things will even be tougher.
Pinnick stressed further that talks are ongoing with some organizations, in order to bring the league back on television.
“Days ago, I was on another virtual meeting with another top company interested in broadcasting the NPFL. We are still discussing and we hope for good news by the time we get the green light to return the season,” he said.
